The SmallCap Index is the new index series introduced by BSE. This S&P BSE SmallCap is aimed to depict the bottom 15% of the whole market cap of the S&P BSE AllCap.

  • Trading frequency: The scrip must be traded on 60% of the trading days in the past three months. 
  • Qualified universe must rooted in companies collecting 98.5% of average market capitalization. 
  • The index of BSE Small-Cap consists of scrips that provide market capitalization coverage between 95% & 100% from the list determined based on 80%-15%-5% market capitalization coverage respectively. 
  • The financial year 1989-90 was elected to be the base year due to the price stability shown through that year and in the light of its proximity to the existing period.
